The sun is back

image (8)The sun is back. If you can believe it or not, we have our problems believing it too, but the sun is back and we enjoyed it so much. With sun shine and blue sky after those weeks of rain, cold wind and gray sky it feels like living in a different city.

To celebrate the wonderful weather Ecky and I went to the fjord today. The sea was quite rough but well Ecky usually doesn’t care. He only cares about getting sticks thrown into the water. For the rest of the afternoon we relaxed on the terrace and indulged watermelon. πŸ™‚

image (9) image (10) image (11)Back to last week.. Well, the weather was the same like the week before: rain, wind, gray sky, clouds. M was wishing winter would come because then the rain would come down as snow and the weather would be better. But this way it was just frustrating. We were sick of this weather. We wanted the summer back.

Last week actually just yesterday

IMG_0196I didn’t visit the kitchen too much but I got a walnut bread assembled and then on Saturday we had waffles with sour cherries and whipped cream. Just like at home. Yummy! I hope my mum is going to prepare her waffles when we are visiting her in October. *just as a tiny hint* 😎

Walnut breads

image (3)On Sunday we prepared sour cherry crumb bars or as German would call it a cake with sour cherries and crumbs. Yes! What a cake. Ecky must have felt like being in heaven when he was allowed to lick the tray after we had put the rest into the freezer.Β Yesterday evening we visited our Swedish friend who wanted to barbecue even if the rain had poured down. He had prepared some fish, baked potatoes and we joined with a salad and M had to share his wisdom in preparing corn cobs. It was very good.

Two thirds with sour cherries and one third with blueberries

Tonight we dived into a spicy Dal soup, don’t think that big Habaneros aren’t as spicy as small ones, Pilav rice and Naan. It was good and my spicy Dal gave our boy hick-ups. Looks like we’ll have to train him on spicy food first.

P.S. 6 weeks to go and still I’m not swaggering! πŸ™‚
